Russell Leslie Bess, 57, of Roanoke, formerly of Covington, died, Thursday, April 1, 2021, at his home. Mr. Bess was born September 14, 1963, in Alleghany County a son of the late William and Frances Stuple Bess. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two nieces, Torri Sanders and Abigail Baker. Russell served in the United States Army. Surviving are three Sisters, Karen B. Carter and Billie Jean Harless, both of Covington and Susan Kalnes of Chicago, IL. And a number of nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A funeral service will be held at a later date. Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
