LUCILLE LUCKETT Lucille Graves Luckett, 78, of 911 N. Alleghany Ave,, died, Wednesday, may 21, 2008 at Alleghany Regional Hospital. She was born January 28, 1930 in Covington, a daughter of the late Willie and Mary Rogers Groves. Mrs. Luckett was an active member of Pine Street Baptist Church where she was a member of the Willing Workers, the Combined Choir and the Senior Choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Luckett in 1973 and also by two brothers and five sisters. Surviving are her four daughters, Freda Jeter and her husband, Robert; Marie Luckett ; Debbie Jeter and her husband, Lester, all of Covington and Julie Wiley and her husband, Walter of Troutville; two sons, George Luckett and his wife, Artra of Austin, TX and Linwood Luckett of Covington; 12 grandchildren including Tawanda Luckett who was raided in the home; 12 great grandchildren; 3 nieces, Evangeline and Lee Wayne Holloway; Doris and Leroy Goode and Barbara Jean Allen all of Covington; one nephew, Ronald and Geraldine Allen of Covington and a host of cousins and friends. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday , may 27, 2008 in Pine Streey Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Thomas S. Simmons officiating. The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at Arritt Funeral Home and the family will receive their friends 7:00 until 8:30 PM Monday, May 26, 2008 at Arritt Funeral Home.
