Jack Lee Powell, 80, of 9709 Rich Patch Rd., Low Moor, passed peacefully in his sleep on Sunday July 17, 2022.
Mr. Powell was born on March 17, 1942, in Clifton Forge, a son of the late Howard and Margaret Phillips Powell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Ruby Rumpf and Peggy Robinson and a brother Howard (Buddy) Powell Jr.
He was an equipment operator at the former Canfield Company and a former member of the Clifton Forge Fire Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, riding horses, going for rides up into the mountains and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Judy Potter Powell; a son Roger Potter and fianc Jennifer Sheppard; two grandson Cole Potter and Ryan Potter; a sister Frances Nicely of Clifton Forge; a brother Bobby Powell of Richmond; a special niece and caregiver Carol Ann Angle and a host of nieces and nephews; sister in laws Barbara Nicely of Missouri and Linda Potter of Covington; brother in laws Jerry Potter and Marilyn of North Carolina and David and Linda Potter of Craigs Creek.
In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated. There will be no service at this time.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
