JIMMY WATKINS James Walton Watkins, 75, of 108 South Marion Ave., died this morning, September 30, 2008 at his residence. He was born March 23, 1933, in Roanoke a son of the late Ted Watkins and Mabel Abbott Watkins Carper. Mr. Watkins had retired in 1994 as a Lab Technician from MeadWestvaco after 35 years with the company.He was a member of Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church and was a 50 year member of New Castle Lodge #140, AF & AM. Surviving are his Wife, Mary Elizabeth Linkenhoker Watkins of Covington; a Son, Teddy Watkins of Harrisonburg; a Daughter, Judy Watkins of York, PA; a Step-son, Kevin Nicely, and his wife, Patty, of Covington; a Step-daughter, Lynette Reynolds, and her husband, William, of Covington; his step- father, James W. "Bill" Carper of New Castle; six grandchildren, Justin Watkins of Milton, WV, Brittany Nicely of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mark and Lindsay Reynold, Aaron and Kelly Reynolds, Paul Reynolds and ChrissyYanushewski, and Ryan Nicley all of Covington; four great grandchildren, Harlie Reynolds, Caleb Reynolds, Breanna Reynolds and Dakota Watkins; his sister, Ella Jean Wade of New Castle; a sister, Jo Ann Williams of Covingotn and several cousins. The funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Friday afternoon at the graveside in Alleghany Memorial Park with the Rev. Barry Throckmorton officiating assisted by Rev. Bill Gilliland. Friends may pay their respects at anytime at Arritt Funeral Home The family will receive their friends Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Arritt Funeral Home .
