Rev. Murray Arthur Hubbard, Jr., of 2040 Childrens Forest Road went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 25, 2019, from Lewis Gale - Alleghany Hospital at Low Moor. Rev. Hubbard was born October 12, 1928, in Monroe County, West Virginia, a son of the late Murray Hubbard, Sr. and Minnie Mentz Hubbard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Peterson, Virginia Carter and Esther Hubbard and one brother, John Hubbard.
He was a retired minister of the Church Of God Of Prophecy and had retired from H. Phil Burks Contracting as a construction foreman skilled in the field of carpentry. He was a veteran of the Korean War with the U.S. Army. He was an avid fox hunter and a breeder of purebred Walker Fox Hounds and had sold dogs to hunters in 26 states.
He is survived by his Wife of 46 years, Emily Naomi Smith Hubbard, of Covington; three Sisters, Una Kelley, and her husband, Ralph, of Covington, Violet Jones and her husband, Ronald, of Clifton Forge and Grace Collier of Dallas, OR; one Brother, Benny Hubbard and his wife, Rev. Nancy Hubbard, of Covington; one sister-in-law, Lorene Hubbard, a caregiver, Anita Simmons and her husband, Doug, six nieces, seven nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews and cousins. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Hubbard officiating assisted by the Rev. Curtis Stump.
Interment will be made in Mountain View Cemetery at Sweet Springs, WV. The family will receive their friends for one hour before service time at Arritt Funeral Home.
