LEEGRAND O' CONNER Walter Leegrand O'Conner, 62, of 7112 Ogles Creek Road, died, early this morning, Saturday, May 3, 2008 at his residence. He was born March 9, 1946 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Woodrow W. and Genevieve Hoke O'Conner. Mr. O'Conner served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2007 after 42 years with AET. He was a member of the Hokes Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marcus N. O'Conner and a sister, Romaine Scott. Leegrand is survived by his wife of 28 years, Susie Honaker O'Conner of Covington; his son and daughter - in-law, Brian and Melanie O'Conner of Covington; two grandchildren, Tyler O'Conner and Mykaylah O'Conner, both of Covington; one brother, Thomas O'Conner and his wife, Janie of Covington; two sisters, Bertha Sizemore and her husband Frankie and Dallas Smith and her husband, Jack, all of Covington; several nieces and nephews, including a Special Nephew, Brandon O'Conner of Covington. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Warren Carswell officiating. The interment will follow in Hokes Chapel Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects anytime at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Arritt Funeral Home.
