I am writing my own obituary because I can. At age 83, my spirit decided to leave this world on December 29, 2025.

I was born on September 27, 1942, a daughter of Bud and Doris Fridley of Callaghan. I have one sister, Sandy Fridley Dunaway of Covington.

I was a graduate of Dunlap High School and continued my education through DSLCC (now Mountain Gateway Community College) and the Virginia Association of Healthcare Facilities. I received a degree from Virginia Commonwealth University as a national healthcare administrator with numerous certifications in the healthcare field.

I worked very hard my whole life in a variety of jobs and met so many wonderful people – my memories are amazing. Relationships are difficult and sometimes irreconcilable.

My first marriage was to Charlie Huddleston. We had two children, Eric Charles Huddleston and Lorrie Huddleston Ward, all live in Covington. I have two granddaughters, Baylee Chrstine Huddleston and Savanna Paige Ward. I cannot express how much these two children fill my heart with love. I hope all their dreams come true.

My second marriage was to Rupert B. O’Conner, Jr. of Covington. We had one son, Shawn (Puz) O’Conner, and this marriage was for 21 years. I am very proud of my children. The love I have for my family is eternal. Please remember me laughing, dancing, and singing.

I have requested to be cremated. No funeral – no visitation. A private gathering will be held at a later date to scatter my ashes. My last request is to be now and forever more - gone with the wind.
