JACK ROSE Clyde Jackson "Jack" Rose, Sr., 80, of 2115 Kanawha Trail, died, Sunday, May 4, 2008 at his residence. He was born November 15, 1927 in Alleghany County, a son of the late, Lacy E. and Lettie Baker Rose. Mr. Rose served with the U.S. Army. He retired as a machinist with Westvaco after 47 years of employment. He was a member of the Dunlap Fire Department and Rescue Squad and the Covington Lodge # 610 Loyal Order of Moose. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by three sisters. Surviving are his wife, Jean Myers Rose of Covington; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and George Williams of Clemmons, NC; Cheryl and Tommy Haynes of Lewisburg, WV and Tracy and Rick Barner of Covington; three son, and daughters-in-law, C.J. and Leita Rose of Bossier, LA; Terry and Tammy Rose and Timmy and Sue Rose, all of Covington; a step daughter, Teresa and Eddie Urban of Covington ; two tep sons, William Jones and Brent Jones and his wife, Cindy, all of Covington; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren and one step great grandchild; one brother Payne Rose of Covington and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Earwood officiating. The interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park. Friends may pay their respects anytime at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
