Darel (Wolfie) Gene Wolfe, age 63, of Covington, died Sunday, October 1, 2023, at his residence.


Darel was born, December 17, 1959, in Alleghany County, a son of the late Stanford J. and Mary Lockhart Wolfe. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Jay Wolfe.


Darel was employed as a Team Leader at WestRock. In his spare was an avid outdoorsman and loved sharing quality time with his family.


Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Sherry Hicks Wolfe of Covington; one son, Derrick Wolfe (Kayla Bess) of Covington; one daughter, Jeannie (Alan) Adkins of Covington; Kelly (Crist) Johnson of Covington; grandchildren, Shanna Adkins, Ashlynn Wolfe, Crista, Mayken and Boyd Johnson of Covington.


A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Noel officiating.


The interment will be held at Alleghany Memorial Park.


The family will receive their friends on Thursday from 6:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.


Arrangements are entrusted to Arritt Funeral Home.
