James Ellis Childs, 74, of 1804 Westwood Drive, died Friday September 4, 2015 at the Bath County Community Hospital. James was born April 26, 1941 in Botetourt County, a son of the late Daniel L. and Hollie Scott Childs. . In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by three brothers, Linwood Childs, Dewey Childs and Dallas Childs. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Surviving are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Tatyana Childs of Covington and Ronald Sharon Childs of Blue Ridge; one niece Rhonda Ashworth and one nephew Bryan and Susie Childs. The funeral service will be held 1:00 PM at the graveside in the Mount Moriah Lutheran Cemetery in Botetourt County with the Rev. Bill Hartsfield officiating. Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
