Zylpha Crawford Hambric, 93, formerly of Oak Street, died, Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Brian Center in Low Moor. She was born October 29, 2010 in Buchanan, a daughter of the late George Washington and Florence Leona Thompson Crawford. Mrs. Hambric retired as a cashier in 1979 from the Kroger Company in Covington after 20 years of service. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where was a member of Fellowship Class and the United Methodist Women of the Church. She was a volunteer at Allehgany Regional Hospital for 20 years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hambric was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Paul Eugene Hambric in 1992; a son, Michael A. Hambric in 1977; two sisters, Cleo Hannah and Juanita Murray ; three brothers, Lawrence Crawford, William Crawford and Harold Crawford. Surviving are two sons and a daughter in law, Donald L. Hambric of Gainesville and Larry B. and Marsha Hambric of Covington; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; four sisters, Mildred Humphries and her husband Vince of New Castle; Thelma Holdren of Roanoke; Sarah Switzer of New Castle and Evelyn Kennedy of Richmond, KY and a number of nieces and nephews. The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park. Memorial Information The family suggests that memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Hambric's name may be made to Christ United Methodist Church Sanctuary Fund.
