Edith Irene Persinger Forbes, 62, of 111 Springwater Dr., died, Monday June 20, 2022, at Lewis Gale Alleghany in Low Moor.
Mrs. Forbes was born September 2, 1959, in Alleghany County a daughter of the late Beauford H. and Mary Humphries Persinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son David Wayne Persinger and a brother Harold L. Persinger.
She was a school bus driver for Alleghany County Public Schools and a member of Cliffdale Christian Church. She loved her kids and grandchildren watching them swim at her pool, she loved cookouts, people, and cracking jokes.
Surviving are her husband of 30 years Jerry W. Forbes of Covington; a daughter Amanda Forbes and Scotty Averill; two sons Dusty Forbes and Mackenzie Shinault and Rusty Forbes and wife Laura all of Covington; nine grandchildren: Harley, Haley, Hayden, Caleb, Maddie, Karter, Lyric, Sebastian, and Ashlyn; a sister Virginia Arrington of Covington; two brothers Robert Persinger of Hot Springs and Douglas Persinger and wife Tracey of White Sulphur Springs, WV; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday June 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with Clinton Phillips Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at other times at Amandas home at 1307 Cherokee Trail.
The interment will follow at Lone Star Cemetery.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
