Delores Stone "Mickey" Humphries age 85 of Covington died Saturday, January 12, 2019, in the Brian Center Rehabilitation Nursing Care at Low Moor. Mrs. Humphries was born August 29, 1933, in Alleghany County, a daughter of late Murriell Dayton Stone and Mabel Huffman Stone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Roscoe E. Humphries, in 2013. Mrs. Humphries was an employee of the former Leggett Department Store in Covington. Surviving are her Son, Roscoe Humphries, and his Wife, Debbie, of Covington; two Sisters, Margie Young and her Husband, Buddy, of Covington and Tootles Tingler and her Husband, Roger, of Covington, GA; two Brothers, Dayton Stone and his Wife, Penny, of Clifton Forge and Gary Lynn Stone of Graham, NC, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at 2:00 PM at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dean Bowser officiating. Active pallbearers will be Dayton Stone, Roger Tingler, Gary Barger, Jerry Burks, C. J. Entsminger, Gary Gumm, Bobby Rice and Larry Snead. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Stone, Buddy Young and Jeff Horn. The family will receive their friends Wednesday at Arritt Funeral Home from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM and at other times at the residence of Roscoe and Debbie Humphries at 2406 Dressler Drive. The family suggests that memorial donations in Mrs. Humphries' name be made to the Alleghany Humane Society, 9313 Rich Patch Rd., Covington, VA 24426 or the Brian Center Activity Fund, 1 ARH Lane, Low Moor, VA 24457.
