GLENN WHITEHEAD Glenn Lewis Whitehead, 76, of 408 Center Court in Jackson Heights died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Alleghany Regional Hospital. Mr. Whitehead was born July 10, 1933, in Covington a son of the late William F. and Louise Parrish Whitehead. He was a veteran of the Korean War with the United States Navy aboard the USS Orleck. He had retired from the Recovery Department of MeadWestvaco after 39 years with the company. He was a member of Mallow Presbyterian Church and the Curtis A. Smith Post #1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Daughter, Terry Shelton, in 2006, and also by five brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his Wife of 55 years, Pat Deaner Whitehead of Covington; his Son and Daughter-in-law, Jerry and Lynn Whitehead of Covington; four granddaughters, Emily and Omar Lolandes of Stuarts Draft, Erica Whitehead of Wilmington, NC, Allison and Jonathan Pillow of Outer Banks,NC and Kelly and R.D. Shook of Roanoke; One great grandson, Oliver Lolandes of Stuarts Draft; three brothers, RayLee "Teenie" Whitehead and R.J. "Bunk" Whitehead and his wife Dolly, all of Covington and Donald "Lefty" Whitehead and his wife, Pat, of Southhaven, MS; three sisters-in-law, Ethel Whitehead, Mary Whitehead, and Louise Whitehead, all of Covington and a host of nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Whitehead's body has been cremated.
