Donald Norwood Scott, 69, of 1025 Dolly Ann Dr., died, Tuesday September 25, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Scott was born March 1, 1949 in Covington the son of the late Brett and Lula Reynolds Scott. Donald was a former electrician with Hercules Inc. and had retired as an installer for the former CFW Telephone Company. He was a member of First Christian Church where he participated in missionary work. He was a former member of the Virginia National Guard and was a Life Member of the Covington Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Surviving are his Wife, Sandra Meadows Scott, of Covington, two Sons, Chris Scott, and his Wife, Brittany, of Roanoke and Greg Scott and his Wife, Rita, of Clifton Forge, his Daughter, Kim Behrens and her Husband, Curt, of Roanoke; six grandchildren, one great granddaughter, two Sisters, Evelyn Knick and her Husband, Jack, of Kimberly, WI and Nancy Simmons and her Husband, Sonny, of Covington, two Brothers, Harrison Scott and his Wife, Becky, and Marvin Scott and Peggy Urban all of Covington, his beloved dog, Jesse Girl, and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday September 28, 2018, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating assisted by Beaver Terry. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive their friends Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Arritt Funeral Home.
