BILLIE LAWS
Billie Honaker Laws, 92, of Prosperity, WV, died Wednesday morning, September 29, 2010, at the home of her Daughter and Son-in-law, Elaine and JK Kershner at 3122 Greenway Drive in Covington.
Mrs. Laws was born February 9, 1918, at Fayetteville, WV, one of fourteen children of the late Charles and Minnie Ellison Honaker.
She was a resident of Prosperity for most of her adult life and always enjoyed gardening and bowling until recent years. She had retired as a retail sales clerk for Hechts Department Store in Beckley after many years with the company. She was a longtime member of the Cranberry Baptist Church at Cranberry, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Walter Wayne "WW" Laws, in 1995; two Sons, W. Wayne Laws, Jr and Dewey Gene Laws, a great grandson, Auston Detwiler and also by eight brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are her Daughter and Son-in-law, Elaine and JK Kershner of Covington; nine grandchildren, Debbie Richmond and her husband, Tracey, of Bridgewater; Khristi Detwiler and her husband, Todd, of McGaheysville; Jimmy Kershner of Culpepper; Kenny Laws and his wife, Liz, of Wilmington, NC; Russell Feldman and Natalie Carlburg and her husband Eric all of New Jersey; Ricky Laws and Sherry Pucciarella, both of Maryland; ten great grandchildren,Logan Richmond, Paige Richmond, Ashton Richmond, Brooke Detwiler, Riley Detwiler, Brandon Cuite, Chelsie Carlburg, Adam Laws and Connie Laws ; seven great great grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Edith Laws of Toms River, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Edith Honaker of Oak Hill, WV, and Frances Dangerfield of Cleveland, Ohio; a host of nieces and nephews and her special dog, Katie.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and are being handled by Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Crematory in Beckley, WV.
The family suggests that donations in Mrs. Laws' name be made to Mountain Regional Hospice; P.O.Box 637; Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
