Norman Persinger Sr. Norman Lewis Persinger Sr., 80, of 441 Winding Way, died, Tuesday May 31, 2022, at Lewis Gale Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor. Mr. Persinger was born on April 10, 1942, in Alleghany County a son of the late Jesse L. and Helen Clark Smith Persinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 2019 Nancy Drepperd Persinger; a daughter Wendy Leigh Persinger; and a brother Donald R. Persinger. He served in the United State Navy and had retired from the #2 Paper Machine at MeadWestVaco. He was a member of Mallow Presbyterian Church and was an avid hunter. Surviving are his son Todd Persinger of Salem; a sister Rosa Lee Bartley of Covington; two sister in laws Thelma Falls and Betty Munsey; and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be on June 3, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Woodie officiating. The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park. The family will receive their friends from 1:00 PM until service time on Friday at Arritt Funeral Home The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorial donation in Mr. Persingers name be made to the Alleghany Humane Society at 9313 Rich Patch Rd.
