Jack Lee Fridley, 85, of Covington, died March 11, 2016 at Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor. He was born May 25, 1930 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Walter T. and Stella McDaniel Fridley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Margaret "Toad" Wilmer and Agnes Via and one brother, James "Chink" Fridley. Mr. Fridley proudly served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War where he was a prisoner of war. He retired in 1995 from the Mill Room with H.O. Canfield. Mr. Fridley was a member of Cliffdale Christian Church. Jack was an avid cattle farmer, loved his grandchildren and he enjoyed telling numerous stories, including the history of Rich Patch. Surviving are the love of his life and wife of 64 years, Margaret Jane Kimberlin Fridley of Covington; four sons, Barry Fridley and his wife Rebecca; Jackie Fridley and his wife Debbie; David Fridley and his wife Joy, all of Covington and Joseph Fridley of Richmond; one daughter, Patricia Weikle and her husband Mike of Organ Cave, WV; seven grandchildren , Jason Fridley and his wife Triva of Timberlake , NC; Dr. Todd Fridley and his wife, Heather of Covington; Holly Slay and her husband Guy of Covington; Josh Weikle and his wife of Ellie of Organ Cave, WV; Marisa Fridley; Breanna Fridley and Jacob Fridley all of Covington; two great grandchildren, Kori Fridley and Jase Fridley of Timberlake, NC and a number of nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. The memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 12:00 noon in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. Following the service the family will receive their friends at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Mr. Fridley's name may be made to the Alzheimer Association, P.O.
