Ronald Leroy Potter, 82, of 300 Lacks Avenue died Friday, June 29, 2018, at his residence. Mr. Potter was born March 8, 1936, in Alleghany County a son of the late A.B. Potter and Myrtle Lawler Potter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, Joyce Rhodes Potter in 2015; his Son, Ronnie Potter, Jr.; one Brother, William Potter, and two Sisters, Shirley Simpson and Helen Layne. He was an employee of the former Industrial Rayon Corp in Covington and had retired from Hercules, Inc.. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and Covington Lodge #610, Loyal Order of Moose. Surviving are two Daughters, Robin Duncan and Julie Lawson, both of Covington; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one Sister, Marlene Rhodes, several nieces and nephews and his "fur baby", Sophie. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
