Carolynne Sue "Carly" Simmons 5, of 203 Jacob Street, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital. She was born May 27, 2011, in Greenbrier County, WV, a daughter Ricky Simmons and Devin Ridgely Vass of Covington. She was a student at Mountain View Elementary I Pop, Early Childhood Program. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Courtney Simmons and Kara Lowe both of Covington; her God parents, Jamie and Stacey Griffith of Covington; Paternal grandfather, Robert "Elmer" Simmons of Covington; Maternal Grandparents Robert and Norma Erwin of Cape Charles, VA, and Jenny Hammond of Covington; Maternal Great Grandparents, Robert and Sarah Erwin of Exmore and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017, at 1:00 PM in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Fisher officiating, assisted by the Rev. Steve Noel. Interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jamie Griffith, Tyler Griffith, Cody Fisher and Dillon Fisher. The family will receive their friends for one hour prior to service time on Saturday at the Arritt Funeral Home.
