Gene B. Breeden, 89, of 4208 Dunlap Creek Road died Thursday, March 19, 2020, in the Brian Center Nursing Home at LowMoor. Mr. Breeden was born May 20, 1930, in Alleghany County a son of the late Charles L. and Maude Gaylor Breeden. He had retired from the plant protection department at Westvaco in 1998 after 43 years with the company. He was a member of Covington Lodge #610, Loyal Order of Moose and enjoyed farming for all of his life. Surviving are his Wife of 65 years. Patty McDaniel Breeden, of Covington; his Son and Daughter-in-law, Ricky and Sherry Breeden, of Covington; two grandchildren, Amanda Breeden of Covington and Chance Breeden and his wife, Lindsay, of Covington; one Brother and Sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Breeden, of Roanoke; a Brother-in-law. James McDaniel, and his wife, Addie, of Covington; three great granddaughters, Brynley, Breanna and Maebry; several nieces, nephews beloved cousins and his special friend, Earl McDaniel. Due to the current pandemic crisis, a private graveside service will be held Sunday at Palestine Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.
