MARY PERSINGER Mary Humphries "Sis" Persinger, 75, of 4200 Midland Trail died Thursday evening, March 10, 2011, in LewisGale-Alleghany Hospital at Low Moor. Mrs. Persinger was born May 5, 1935, in Alleghany County a daughter of the late Samuel "Abe" and Bertha Tucker Humphries. She was an employee of the former Jane Colby sewing plant in Clifton Forge and had retired in 1996 from the Halmode, Inc. sewing plant in New Castle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a Son, Harold Persinger, a grandson, David Persinger, a sister, Margie Wolfe and two brothers, Wilbur Humphries and Joe Humphries. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Beauford "Doc" Persinger of Covington; two Daughters, Irene Forbes and her husband, Tom, and Virginia Arrington all of Covington; two sons, Robert Persinger and his wife, Cheryl, of Covington and Douglas Persinger and his wife, Tracy, of White Sulphur Springs, WV; 13 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Maggie Humphries of Covington; two brothers, Wade Humphries and his wife Brenda and Wallace Humphries , all of Covington and a number of nieces and nephews. The interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.
