Verlie Craft, 86, of 1404 Donovan St. Selma, died, Saturday June 4, 2022, in the Virginia Veteran Care Center in Roanoke. Mr. Craft was born on January 8, 1936, in Kentucky a son of the late Ora and Mary Tharp Craft. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Hosey Craft in 2020; two sisters Amy Robinson and Ellera; three brothers Joe Craft, Virgil Craft, and Chester Craft. He was in the United States Navy for 20 years serving during Vietnam. He was a member of Midway Christian Church and a heavy equipment mechanic. Surviving are his two daughters Brenda Bogar and husband Randy of Covington and Debra Wolfe and husband Todd of Low Moor; a stepdaughter Patricia Bradley of Mt. Solon; five grandchildren David Armentrout and Cassie Hicks and her husband Travis all of Covington, Renee Broughman and her husband Jason of Low Moor, Sierra Bradley and Ember-Lynn Smith both of Mount Solon; four great grandchildren Jasmine Thornton, Ashley Broughman, Kelsey Broughman, and Chloe Hicks; the mother of Brenda and Debra Janet Craft of Low Moor; two sisters Golden Wright of Covington and Juanita Combs of KY; three brothers Larry Craft, Charles Craft, and Don Craft all of Indiana; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday June 8, 2022, at 2:00 PM in Alleghany Memorial Park with the Rev. Mike Fisher officiating. The family will receive their friends on Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Arritt Funeral Home. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
