AVA GUTHRIE Ava Guthrie , 92, of Covington, died This morning, February 2, 2011 at the Springs Nursing Home in Hot Springs. She was born December 31, 1918 at Cass, in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late John R. and Cora Stonebreaker Guthrie. Ms. Guthrie retired in 1982 as an Executive Secretary with the Pocahontas Board of Education. She was a member of the South Covington United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters and a nephew, Thomas Wiseman, Jr. Surviving are a nephew, John Carr of Maryland; three great nieces, Jennifer Knick and her husband, Dewey of Covington; Julie Coffman and her husband Keith of Harrisburg and Sarah Wiseman of Brandywine, WV; two great nephews, Chris Wiseman of Clifton Forge and Travis Wiseman of Morgantown, WV; great great niece and nephews, Steven Moody, Brandi Clark, Matthew McCallister, Emily Moody, Christian Wiseman, Miles, McCallister, Dylan Wiseman, Daniele Wiseman, Landon Wiseman, Savanna Wiseman and Joslin Wiseman; great great great nieces and nephews, Malayah Allen, Isabella McC allister, Kolten Moody and Kiercyn Clark; and Todd Moody of Covington. The interment will be made in the Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton ,WV at 3:00 PM . Memorial Information The family suggests that memorial donations in Ms. Gurthrie's name may be made ot the Alzheimer's Association, 2728 Colonial Ave., Suite 2, Roanoke, VA 244015 or to the South Covington United Methodist Church, 1900 S. Kadel Ave, Covington, VA .
