Wendy Michelle Hoke Browning, 42, of Covington, passed away, Wednesday April 12, 2023, at Lewis gale Medical Center, Salem after a lengthy illness.


She was born June 22, 1980, in Alleghany, a daughter of Bonnie Hoke Hepler and her father Larry Hepler of Covington.


Wendy was preceded in death by a daughter Ginger Kress and a son Howard F. Browning III.


Mrs. Browning was a former employee at Tanglewood Manor.


In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband of 20 years Howard F. Browning, Jr. of Covington; her children Marie Browning of Roanoke, Peggy Browning of Clifton Forge, Ashley Browning of Covington, Cheyenne Hosey of Covington, John Browning of Covington, RJ Hosey of Covington, Jesse Browning of Hot Springs, Angel and Sean Howes of Buchanan and Bubbie Browning of Covington; her grandchildren Evelyn Browning, Arlo Forbes, Hazel Wolfe, Xavier Wolfe, Journee Hosey, Atticus, Pandora Howes, Addie Howes, Mason Browning, Colton Lindsay, Nevaeh Hale, Korbin Browning and Jacob Kress; her sisters Gail Brown and husband Scott of Indiana, Melanie Hosey, Kelleigh Hoke all of Covington, Tori Silver of Botetourt, April Silver of Covington, Monica Mines of Clifton Forge; her brother Jerry Atkins of Charlottesville; a daughter in law Misty Browning of Covington; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.


A graveside service will be Sunday April 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM in Hoke Chapel Cemetery with Mr. Bruce Kesterson officiating.


The family will gather at Arritt Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 on Sunday.


Arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
