Donna Tucker Williams, 57, of 310 Clearwater Drive, passed away Sept. 10 2008, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, following a short illness. She was cared for lovingly by her family during her illness. Donna was born August 11, 1951 in Covington Va. To the late Ulysses W. and Mary Armstrong Tucker. She is survived by her husband John G. Williams of Covington, a daughter Sherry Dawson of Culpeper and her friend Gary Colwell of Silver Spring Md , 2 grandchildren Myca Simmons and Jessah Livesay both at home, a sister Elizabeth Bodkin and her husband Mike of Covington, a very special niece Cherie Dawson Brown and her husband Rev. David Brown of Potts Creek, a great niece Autumn Vallandingham, A very spacial cousin Diane and her husband Richard Wright of Troutville Va, father in law E.C. Williams Jr. and special friend Virginia Habblett both of the Glebe of Daleville Va., a sister in law Susan and her husband Robert Brooks of Sherillis Ford Nc., sister in law Allie and her husband George Mauney of Charlotte Nc., and friends David and Joanne Luckett of Hampton Va. Donna was a gratuate of Dabney S Lancaster Community College and Bluefield College where she earned a degree in education. She was employed by Meade Westvaco for 37 years, and had just completed her first year of teaching at Jeter Watson Intermediate school. Donna was a long time member of BPW, and held the offices of President and Vice President and was presented the BPWwoman of the year award in 2008. . She was a member of Pinnell Chapel United Methodist Church and was currently serving on the PPR board. Donna loved to travel and had ventured into Europe and the South Pacific. She also took flying lessons at the Old Greenbriar Airport. .She was an animal lover and doted on her cat Princess. She greatly enjoyed dancing and was a past member of a local dance group. Donna has been cremated, at her request, and a celebration of life service will be held at Arrits Funeral Home, and will be officiated by the Rev. David Brown on Saturday Sept. 13 at 6pm .
