BONNIE PROFFITT Bonnie Taylor Porffitt, 56, of 4215 Midland Trail, passed away, Tuesday evening, October 27, 2008 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor after a long illness despite the best efforts of the wonderful Doctors and Nurses on the 6Th Floor ICU Staff. She was born January 22, 1952 in Covington, a daughter of Clayton and Wilma Taylor of Covington. Bonnie spent must of her life working until 2002 when she became disabled. Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She would go without to see that they had what they needed. She always put others first and surely earned her wings in heaven. In addition to her parents, Bonnie is survived by her husband of 38 years, J. Frank Proffitt of Covington; a son, Rusty Proffitt and fianc Charlotte of Richmond; a daughter, Shelly Johnson an her husband, David of Covington; five grandchildren, Destiny Proffitt; Jacob Proffitt and Hope Proffitt; Taylor Johnson and Abby Johnson; one sister, Lisa Ingram and her husband, Mark of Richmond; two brothers, Larry Taylor and his wife Susie of Richmond; and Eddie Taylor and his wife Sandy of Covington; two brothers-in-law, David Fountain of TN and Carson Proffitt and his wife Vicky of Covington; a sister-in-law, Barbara Menefee and her husband, Pete of Covington and several nieces, nephews and many loving friends. The funeral service will be held 2: 00 PM Friday, October 31, 2008 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Menefee officiating. The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park. Friends may pay their respects anytime at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends Thursday from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at the funeral home. At others times the family will be at Bonnie's parents residence, Clayton and Wilma Taylor, 318 W. Gillian Street, Covington. The family asks that all who knew Bonnie come and celebrate her life with them.
