HELEN LIPES Helen Francis "Hottie " Lipes, of 709 N. Beverly Ave., went to be the Lord Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Lewis Gale Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor. She was born in Covington, a daughter of the late Pierce A. and Leatha Stinespring Dressler. Mrs. Lipes retired from Westvaco Corrp. after 45 years of service . She was a very active member of Christ United Methodist Church where she had served in numerous offices. She was a member of Good Hope Rebecca Lodge #8 for over fifty years and was a Past Noble Grand, A Past D.D. P. of District # 12 and former member of the L.A. P.M Lodge # 22 of Clifton Forge; a member of the Ladies Aux. of Post 1033 VFW; a past president of P.P. Club; Interval 3rd Thursday Bridge Club; honorary member of Former Interment Garden Club and Mid Town and Parrish Court Home Demonstration Clubs. She was Woman of the Year in 1966 and former member of the Business and Professional Club. In addition on to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis J. "Jr." Lipes in December 1999; tow very dear brothers, Forest Dressler in 1991 and Frank Dressler in 1979; and one sister Margaret Porretta in 1998. Surviving are a sister, Dana Tingler and her husband, Norwood of Covington ; three dear relatives Dianne Mahan of Indianapolis, IN ; Barry Tingler of Culpepper and Michael Tingler of Clifton Forge and other nieces, nephews, cousins and some very dear friends. The interment will be made in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Matthew Tingler, George Tingler, Bradley Tingler, Jonathan Tingler, Brent Clark, Ronnie Clark, Ronnie Black , Ray Lipes and Tom Elmore. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Martin.
