KATHY CALLAHAN Kathy Carol Callahan, 63, of Covington, died Sunday, November 19, 2017, at her residence. She was born March 7, 1954, a daughter of Claudine Martin Pritt and the late George Pritt, Sr. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a Daughter, Rebecca Callahan, and a grandson, Kenneth Dalton Callahan. Ms. Callahan worked for many years in the construction industry and very much enjoyed shopping at her favorite stores. She attended Good News Christian Fellowship Church. In addition to her mother, surviving are 3 daughters, Michelle Hubbard, Missy and Chris Reynolds of Covington, and Christy Wall of Goochland; one son, Kenneth and Victoria Callahan of Covington; nine grandchildren, Angel Jack, Whitney Hubbard, Michael Callahan, Brandy Campbell, Cheyenne Hubbard, Cameron Callahan, Trevor Brown, Alexis Wall, and Navaya Williams, all of Covington; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Stuple; 3 brothers, Eddie Pritt, Jr., Jeffrey Pritt, and Ricky and Bertha ...

Ernest Berkley Sizemore, 78, formerly of Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge, died Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Alleghany Health and Rehab in Clifton Forge. He was born July 17, 1939, in Front Royal, a son of the late Floyd B. and Lucy Mary Cline Sizemore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a Daughter, Jerri Lee Sizemore, and two Brothers, Doug Sizemore and Leroy Sizemore. Mr. Sizemore served during the Korean War with the United States Army. He was a retired self-employed painter. Mr. Sizemore was a member of the Solid Rock Ministries congregation. Wallace Hayden Humphries, 85, of 3604 Upper Rich Patch Road died Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at his home. Mr. Humphries was born May 29, 1932, in Alleghany County a son of the late Samuel "Abe" Humphries and Bertha Tucker Humphries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, Bessie Wolfe Humphries, in 1993, and also by three brothers, Wilbur Humphries, Joe Humphries and Wade Humphries and two sisters, Mary Persinger and Margie Wolfe. He was a custodian with the Alleghany County School System for 23 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of Cliffdale Christian Church and was a "mountain farmer" for all of his life. Sarah Irene Boggs, 37, of Covington, died Friday, November 10, 2017 at her residence. She was born June 29, 1980 in Tazewell, a daughter of Steve and Ginger Baker Lane of White Sulphur Springs, WV. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son Greyson Boggs; grandparents, A.J. and Sue Baker of Clintwood; other relatives include Cathy Baker, know fondly by Sarah as "Sissy"; Scott Baker, Chris Lane, and Becky Kuper. Britt Rodd Gilbert, 74, of Covington, VA died Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at his residence. He was born July 12, 1943 in Washington, D.C., a son of David and Elinor Rodd Gilbert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Geoffrey Gilbert and one nephew, Matthew Gilbert. Britt attended St. Albans School and sang as a choir boy for the Washington National Cathedral in his youth, developing his tremendous love of music and a lifelong enthusiasm for classical performances. He attended St. John's College in Annapolis, MD, studying Greek and Latin literature, oratory, mathematics, and the sciences. Britt was drafted into the U.S. Army as a truck driver in May 1966, and in 1967 was transferred to the Army Reserve. He was in the Carpenter's Union and later the Operating Engineers Union and helped maintain the enormous tunnel boring machine that dug the subway tunnels for the Washington, D.C. Metro. Paul Lee Crizer, Sr., 91, of 1322 S. David Street died Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at his home. Mr. Crizer was born January 12, 1926, in Covington a son of the late Henry and Mary Arritt Crizer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, Marie Hepler Crizer, in 2014, and also by his Brother, Bobby Crizer, and his Sister, Shirley Ramsey. He had retired in 1991 as a Maintenance Mechanic after 47 years with Westrock. Surviving are his Son, Paul L. Crizer, Jr., and his Wife, Dawn, of Covington and several nieces and nephews. He was born December 24, 1939 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Bill Sadler Tucker and Cindy Wolfe Tucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Charles R. Tucker, Jr. and a grandson, Wyatt S. Givens and also by four sisters and two brothers. Mr. Tucker retired from VDOT in 1988 as a Truck Drive after 23 years of service. Robert Dennis "Bobby" Frame age 85, of Covington died November 2, 2017 at Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge. He was born September 23, 1932 in Glen Wilton to the late Felix J. Frame and Rosanna Knapp Frame. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, James R. Frame, David E. Frame, Edsel R. Frame, Raymond M. Frame, Gary W. Frame Thomas D. Frame and Ralph G. Frame and two sisters, Hilda J. Frame and Ina Frame Decker. Mr. Frame was a Veteran of World War II and Korean having served with the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. He was an employee of the former DJ's Restaurant for many years. Mrs. Lewis was born April 17, 1940, in Martinsville a daughter of the late Steve and Daisy Hairfield Rigney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Charles "Buck" Lewis, in 1969 and an infant Son, Keith Edward Lewis.
