William Samuel "Sammy" Miller, 68, of Hot Springs died, May 14, 2022, at his residence, surrounded by his family and close friends. He was the husband of Patricia R. Miller.Sammy was born on April 3, 1954, the son of the late George Lewis Miller and the late Nellie Burns Miller. He attended Covington High School and was an employee of Hercules before he went to work at The Homestead, where he retired after 38 years of service. Sammy was an avid bear hunter.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Raymond Miller of Hot Springs, and his daughter, Cara (Clay) Fravel of Spotswood; his grand dog Xena, two sisters Nancy Magaddino and Liz (Larry) Lawhorn of Virginia Beach; one brother, Tim (Debbie) Miller of Rich Patch; several nieces to include Terry (Mike) Perry of Hot Springs and Beth (Jay) Woodson of Covington, great nieces and nephews, and a special family friend, Betty Botkin of Hot Springs. Johrnee Na'Haven Lowry, infant daughter of Erin N. Lowry of Covington and Christopher Williams of Laurinburg NC; was born and went to be with Jesus on Friday May 13, 2022. Including her parents, Johrnee is survived by a brother Kayden Lowry, and two sisters, Jay'Lee and Delaney Lowry. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother Janet Lee Walton (Mitchell Curry) and Grandfather David A. Lowry (Melody Stills) of Pembroke NC and Paternal grandmother Sandra Williams of Laurinburg NC. Evelyn Lucile Landis Agnor, affectionately known all of her life as "Tillie", passed from this life on May 13, 2022, in Tampa, Florida with her family at her side. Born on April 11, 1929, in Covington, Virginia to Joseph Howard Landis and Minnie Stoup Dressler Landis, she was the youngest of a large family. Her eight siblings were Clyde Landis, Frances Sprouse, Carl Dressler, Sr., William (Bill) Dressler, Sr., Charlotte Keyser, Ida Harris, Blanche Burley and Nettie Campbell. The family shaped her life with a joy of living and an ever-present optimism. This loving family gave her many memories as well as many nieces and nephews. She continued the tradition of joy, vitality, and making a difference with her own family and was the loving mother of Robert Joseph "Bob" Agnor, Freda Agnor McClung, and Charlotte Agnor Baker. Depriest, Sr.and Pauline Rogers Depriest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Emmett Wayne Montgomery, Sr., a brother Ira T. Depriest, Jr. and Billy Grey Depriest. She was a member of the Covington Moose Lodge and enjoyed camping, working in her beautiful flower garden, and taking care of her two fur babies, Cain, and Abel. Ms. Sherry Antranette Allen was born April 2, 1970, a daughter of the late Ronald Allen and Geraldine Allen. She departed this earthly life Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Piedmont Midtown Hospital in Columbus, Georgia to rest in her eternal home with God. Sherry attended Covington High School and graduated in 1988. Upon graduation she went to National Business College in Roanoke, VA. She relocated to Phenix City, Alabama and while there she was a Pharmacy Tech at C.V.S. and until her death she worked as a Teachers Assistant at Meadowlane Elementary School. She was baptized at Pine Street Church at an early age and after moving to Phenix City she worshipped at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Ruby Johnson Stull, 95, entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday, May 1, 2022. She leaves behind her daughter, Paula Stull, her sister, Louise Humphries, a number of nieces and nephews and many extended family members, cherished friends, and her loving, caring, Brian Center family. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harvey Lee Stull, her first husband Harold Johnson and their son, Larry Wayne Johnson Stull. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Cora and Ralph Stull, sisters, Gladys Humphreys and Hallie Rose and brothers, Melvin Stull and Kenneth Stull. Ruby's love of life was caring for others and she lived the life she loved. She never missed a PTA meeting for her son or daughter. She was very active in their school and athletic activities. William Wayne Wright, 65, of 6315 Uplands Road, died, Thursday April 28, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Wright was born in Alleghany County a son of the late Carl Leo and Shirley Rowe Wright Ferryman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Carla Weese; two brother Joe Ferryman and Carl Wright. He worked at the Water department for the City of Covington, and he was proud member of the Covington Fire department also loved fishing, wrestling, going to the Lumberjack Games, and playing with the Children his fianc watched. Phyllis Carol Wright, 70, of 309 Treetop Dr., died, Wednesday April 27, 2022, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Wright was born May 25, 1951, in Alleghany County a daughter of Phoebe Tucker Albright and the late Leonard Wright. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Lacy Marcus and a brother Ersel Wright. Carolyn Sue Gallew, 60, of Green Bank, WV, died, April 8, 2022, at the WV Caring Hospice House in Elkins, WV. Miss Gallew was born on July 14, 1961, in Covington, a daughter of the late Robert E. Sr. and Bessie Hite Gallew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Patricia Kilby and a nephew Christopher Gallew. She was a member of the Elkins Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Elkins and enjoyed playing with her toys, bowling, and watching the Little House on the Prairie. Surviving are her brother Robert E. Clifford Brooks Persinger Sr., 90, of 508 W. Gilliam St., died, Sunday April 3, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Persinger was born November 3, 1931, in Alleghany County a son of the late William Abraham and Cora Persinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 2019 Violet Wolfe Persinger; four brothers and six sisters. He served in the United State Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1997 after 37 years from Westvaco as a Machinist in the Research Lab. He was a member of the Cliffdale Christian Church and attended First Christian Church. He was the owner of CBP Machine Shop, had three US Patents and loved walking and feeding the squirrels. He loved his family and sitting on the porch and had a love for children.
