Tamala Persinger Glover, 61, of 417 Long Lane Farm Rd. Union, WV, died Sunday March 29, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Glover was born August 28, 1958, in Alleghany Co. the daughter of the late Ralph L. and Lorretta Fix Persinger. Tamala was a store manager for Lumos and a former employee of the Western Sizzlin in Covington. She enjoyed farming with her husband. Surviving are her husband Ronnie L. Glover Sr. of Union, three sons Justin Batten and Jonathan Batten and wife Terrie all of Covington, Ronnie Glover Jr. and wife Jesse, a daughter Jennifer Martin and husband Chris all of Union, 11 grandchildren, two brothers David Persinger and wife Laura and Arnie Persinger and wife Penny all of Covington, and a number of nieces and nephews. In keeping with the guidelines of the current Corona virus pandemic, a private graveside service will be held Thursday April 2, 2020 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Debra Washer officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.

Debra Kay Armentrout, 63, formerly of Covington, died, Sunday March 29, 2020 at the Woodlands Health and Rehab Center. Ms. Armentrout was born November 6, 1956, the daughter of the late Leonard B. and Doris Tingler Armentrout. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Daryl Armentrout. Surviving are her two daughters Dana Armentrout and Skye Armentrout, a grandson Lane Killingsworth all of Covington, two brothers Dale and Donny Armentrout, and a number of nieces and nephews. In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home....

Lorenzo Ross, 84, of 106 East Prospect Street, died Monday, March 23, 2020, at the Springtree Health and Rehabilitation Center in Roanoke. Mr. Ross was born June 11, 1935, in Covington a son of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Beverly Ross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, Dorothy Jackson Ross, in 2004; one Sister, Hortense Spencer; eight Brothers, Walter Ross, Clifford Ross, Pearson Ross, Raleigh Ross, Rotha Ross, Theodore Ross, Hawthorne Ross and Lynn Ross. He was a 1954 graduate of Watson High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force retiring after 23 years in 1977. He was employed for 17 years at Siemers Automotive in Newport News and was a former employee of Hercules, Inc., in Covington. He was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church and a member of the Male Chorus of the church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Gene B. Breeden, 89, of 4208 Dunlap Creek Road died Thursday, March 19, 2020, in the Brian Center Nursing Home at LowMoor. Mr. Breeden was born May 20, 1930, in Alleghany County a son of the late Charles L. and Maude Gaylor Breeden. He had retired from the plant protection department at Westvaco in 1998 after 43 years with the company. He was a member of Covington Lodge #610, Loyal Order of Moose and enjoyed farming for all of his life. Surviving are his Wife of 65 years. David Wayne Smith, 67, of Covington died Thursday, March 12, 2020, at his residence, He was born August 25, 1952, in Covington a son of the late Emmett Smith and Eleanor Bennett Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one Brother, Billy Smith, and one Sister, Lillian Miller. Wayne had graduated from Alleghany High School in 1971. He had worked for the Prince William County Police Department in Manassas from 1973 until 2002 where he earned the title of Master Police Detective. Wayne loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and playing poker with his family and friends. Connie Sue Miller Taylor, 64, of Low Moor, died, Friday March 6, 2020 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. Mrs. Taylor was born July 6, 1955 in Alleghany County a daughter of the late Maynard E. Miller and Irene Plott Miller Davis. In addition to his parents she is preceded by a sister Rosa Wolfe,Four brothers Eddie Miller, Barry Miller,Ronnie Miller and Thomas Miller. Leo Michael Clifford Jr. joined the angel choir March 5, 2020 with family by his side at his residence in Callaghan VA. Born June 28, 1930 in White Sulphur Springs WV, he was the son of the late Leo M. and Effie Lilly Clifford. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy "Boots" Smith Clifford, brother Thomas Clifford, four sisters, Lilly Lewis (Gordon), Rose Ross (Honus), Agnes Stull (Lon) and Teresa Livesay (Marvin). Leo served honorably in the U. S. Airforce during the Korean War. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Leo was a chef at The Greenbrier Hotel where he retired with 35 years of service. After retirement he continued to enjoy gardening and volunteered his pruning talent in the neighborhood and at his church. Leo always loved sports and while in school he participated in various sports earning the nick name "Gallop". His greatest delight was spending time with his grandson, Jarret. Earl William Hensley Jr., 58, of Covington, died, March 3, 2020, at his brother's residence. Mr. Hensley was born April 10, 1961, in Alleghany County a son of the late Earl W. Hensley Sr. and Virginia Baker Hensley. He had been working as a maintenance worker in the golf department at the Omni Homestead Inc. Surviving are his brother Guy Hensley and girlfriend, Brenda L. Wright, of Covington; close friends James May and Nicole May all of Covington, Johnny Chapman of Bacova, and his co-workers at the Omni Homestead. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 6, 2020, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. The family will receive their friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Monday, March 2, 2020 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. In addition to her parents she is survived by two sisters, Zoey Jenkins and Jaeda Jenkins, her maternal grandparents, Wayne and Kathy Robertson, her paternal grandparents, Ray and Debbie Jenkins, her aunt, Jessica Rucker and husband, Brian, and her uncle, Jeremy Jenkins, all of Hot Springs.
