Marion Parker Cobbs, 91, of Covington, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday June 22, 2021, at the Brian Center in Low Moor. Mrs. Cobbs was born November 9, 1929, in Bath County a daughter of the Late Grant and Mary Ethel Smith Nelson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Cobbs Sr, two sisters, and one brother. She worked at the A&P Grocery store as a meat cutter and cashier. She was also a member of Pine St. Baptist Church. Surviving are her son Lloyd Cobbs Jr and wife Karen of Covington, a stepdaughter Jennifer Cobbs of Blacksburg, six grandchildren Lloyd Jordan and wife Delores of MD, Warren Jordan of Fort Myers, FL, Malinda Brooks and husband Brandon of Roanoke, Givoni Jennings of Lexington, Vera Cobbs and Tyrees Bennett of Charlotte, NC, and Jonathan Cobbs of Roanoke, a number of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins to include a special cousins, Dianne Heighter and James Barber both of Covington. Charles Robert "Bobby" O'Conner, 56, of 7826 Ogles Creek Rd., died, Sunday, June 20, 2021, at Lewis Gale Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor. Mr. O'Conner was born April 30, 1965, in Alleghany County a son of the late Charles Burton and Marie Graham O'Conner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur L. O'Conner, in 1978. He was a former employ of Hammond- Mitchell and was an avid outdoorsman and loved shooting guns. He also enjoyed gardening, music, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a hard worker and a people person. In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated. Deborah Bush Stinnett, 64, of 537 E. Kline St., died, Sunday June 20, 2021, at The Carrington Cottage Memory Care Center of Troutville. Mrs. Stinnett was born December 9, 1956, in Alleghany County a daughter of Francis Whiting Bush of Covington and the late Albert Ray Bush. She was an equipment operator with Westrock. Judy Wright Anderson, 81, formerly of Covington, died, Saturday June 19, 2021, at The Springs Nursing Home in Hot Springs. Mrs. Anderson was born April 6, 1940, in Covington, a daughter of the late Robert Earl and Nanny Austin Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lenwood Anderson in 2016, two infant children Rhonda and Craig Anderson, and two sisters Virginia "Boots" Wright and Ester Prince. She was the first lady patrolman for the City of Covington. She was a member of the former Trinity Baptist Church. In addition to working for the city she worked at the former Brown's Music Store and was a homemaker, she loved her pets and feeding the wildlife around her home. Mrs. Ellis was born June 28, 1967, in Alleghany County the daughter of the late William M. Conner and Linda Hall Conner. In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated. Surviving are her husband Billy Joe Ellis of Covington, a daughter Linda Ellis and fianc Kyle Brisendine of Covington, a son Sandy Ellis and wife Kristin of Butner, NC, three granddaughters; Teegan Brisendine, Leah Ellis, and Claire Ellis, and a grandson Gunnar Ellis, and numerous other family and friends. Aaron Matthew Propps, 43, of 315 Kanawha Trail died Thursday, June 10, 2021, in Lewis-Gale Alleghany Hospital at Lowmoor. Mr. Propps was born November 11, 1977, in Alleghany County a Son of Glendol and Diana Bennett Propps of Covington. Surviving in addition to is parents are his Wife, Amanda Simmons Propps of Sweet Chalybeate; two Sons, Remington Propps, of Lexington and Barrett Propps of Sweet Chalybeate; a Daughter, Alana Propps, of Sweet Chalybeate; a Sister, Melanie Maxey, and her Husband, Lee, of Colonial Beach and a niece, Katie Maxey. He enjoyed being outdoors. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. Quintin Harvey Walker, Sr., 59, of 533 Roxbury Street in Clifton Forge died Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Lewis Gale -Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg.
Mr. Walker was born January 4, 1962, in Clifton Forge, a son of the late Sterling H. and Dorothy Vest Walker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Fagg; two grandchildren, Daniel Walker and Emma Walker and an infant brother and infant sister.
He was a truck driver for all his life, he worked Garten Trucking and was an avid classic car enthusiast. He was member of Clifton Forge Baptist Church where he served a deacon.

Mr. Rickett was born May 5, 1955 in Covington, a son of the late Robert and Margaret Turk Rickett.
Kevin retired from the Army as a Sgt 1st class. In recent years he had been employed at the Omni Homestead as a Houseman.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin Rickett Jr. and his wife Skye of Covington, and Tyler Rickett of Fort Benning, GA; a daughter, Shannon Simnick and her husband Nick of Clayton, OH; and seven grandchildren.

The family of Kolin Howard Bennett, 56, of Covington, is saddened to announce his death on June 3, 2021 after a history of complex illnesses. Kolin was born to Marion "Dick" and Clara Bennett on October 17, 1964 in Clifton Forge, Virginia. He was born just minutes before his identical twin brother, Kyle, and never let him forget he was older. Kolin graduated from Alleghany County High School in 1983 and graduated from Jefferson College of Health Sciences, later specializing in psychiatry. Kolin had a long career with the Covington Rescue Squad which he loved, leading him to choose a path in the medical field. Kolin also previously worked for Standard Printing and the Virginian Review. Kolin was preceeded in death by his father, Marion "Dick" Bennett, his paternal grandparents Robert and Nellie Bennett and his maternal grandparents Howard and Luevena Simmons. Mrs. Porterfield was born April 20, 1927, in Greenbrier County, WV, a daughter of the late Silas and Eva Judy Boone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, William Haskell Porterfield, in 1999, a Son, Wayne Porterfield in 2020, and a Brother, Howard Boone. She was an employee of the former Industrial Rayon plant in Covington. She was a member of the Dunlap Fire and Rescue and the Ladies Auxiliary for over40 years.
