"Kenny" Richard

Kenneth Richard Lane, 74 of Covington, Va, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Sunday March 21, 2021, at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Va. Kenny fought a long hard battle, but eventually succumbed to the disease vasculitis. Kenny was born April 16, 1946 in Cannellton, WV. He graduated Richwood High School in Richwood WV in 1964. He was preceded in death by his parents William Richard and Mary Katherine Lane, and two brothers and one sister. Kenny is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years Sue, his son Rob and wife Stephanie of Staunton Va, two precious granddaughters Emma and Sara, two special nephews Mike and Tim Green of Covington, a special cousin Joe Pritt of Summersville, WV, a brother and sister, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. After high school, Kenny joined the WV National Guard and worked numerous jobs before joining the Covington Police Department in 1972 as a patrolman. Sherry Wright Malcom, 48, of 8717 Mill Branch Rd, died, Saturday March 20, 2021 at her residence. She was born August 10, 1972 in Alleghany Co. the daughter of late Carolyn W. Wright and Joseph Wright, Sr. of Covington. Surviving other than her father is her husband Hunter "Toby" Malcom of Covington, two son Brandon Jackson and his friend Marissa Selleck, Hunter Malcom and his friend Kayla Bishop, one daughter Taylor Malcom, and her friend Devin Lane, and one brother Joseph Wright, Jr. all of Covington. A graveside service will be held Tuesday 2:00 PM at Lone Star Cemetery with the Rev. David Brown officiating. Gerald Lloyd Sizemore Sr., 88 of 824 Pocahontas Ave., passed away, March 17, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Sizemore was born November 10, 1932 in Virginia a son of the late Aulden C. and Izora Sizemore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Cleva Gibson Sizemore in 2015, a daughter Carol Arrington, two brothers Donald Sizemore Sr. and Ryland Sizemore,three half-sisters Shelby Broughman, Linda Stevens, and Susie Cobb. Gerald was a retired brakeman for the C&O Railroad and a member of Covington Bible Church. Known as a hard worker and loved his family and was a Indianapolis Colts fan switched to the Denver Broncos to follow his favorite QB Peyton Manning. Joey (Joe) Lee Campbell, 67, of 714 N. Greenbrier Ave., died, Saturday March 13, 2021 at Southside Medical Center in Petersburg. He was born June 18, 1953 in Alleghany County, the son of the late George F. and Margret Thompson Campbell. He is survived by a sister Becky Brown of Natural Bridge, a nephew Billy Hinkle Jr. of Covington, that was so special to Joe and a niece Beth Brown of Natural Bridge, a daughter Melanie Hosey Of Covington and two grandchildren Samantha Hosey and Michael Hosey. Joe spent many years living with Gene and Susie Thompson. There he met Alisia Thompson and they became best friends, A bond that was broken only by Joe's passing. Joe Spend the last ten years with Harvey and Judy Thompson. In their home he received the care and goodwill that Margaret would have wanted. In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated. Norman Earnway Kimberlin, Jr., 74, of 1002 Hattie Street died Friday, March 5, 2021, at his home. Mr. Kimberlin was born June 29, 1946, in Alleghany County a son of the late Norman E. Kimberlin, Sr., and Celia Wolfe Kimberlin Terry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. Kimberlin and Coyd W. Kimberlin, and a daughter-in-law, Lily Lipscomb Kimberlin. Norman was a veteran of the United States Army serving the majority of his active duty in Germany. He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Covington School System. Travis Matthew Ashlock, of Covington, died Thursday, February 25, 2021. Travis was born October 31, 2006 in Newport News, VA. He was a student at the Rivermont School in Covington. Survivors include his mother, Wanda Ashlock (Deandria Brown); one sister, Lawanda Ashlock; two brothers, Tyshawn Ashlock and Oswald Ashlock; and grandmother, Sylvia Mansfield, all of Covington; an aunt, Patty Osborne (Larry Nemergut) of Gloucester, VA; and several cousins including Tina Osborne and Jayden Osborne, both of Covington. Donald Cardwell Sr. Donald Verlouis Cardwell Sr., 82, of 221 Pinehurst Heights Rd., Hot Springs, died, Friday February 19, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Cardwell was born August 11, 1938 in Bath County a son of the late Rucker Cardwell Sr. and Mayso Kent Cardwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Susan Merchant Cardwell in 2017, a sister Alberta Prescott and a brother Buddy Cardwell. He was a self-employed contractor and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to work and stay busy, very loving, and caring individual for nature and life and was always lending a helping hand. James Gilman Flint, 84, of 3707 Jackson River Road died Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at his home. Mr. Flint was born September 20, 1936, in Covington a son of the late Randolph Andy Flint and Aurelia Viola Hinton Flint. James served his country in the United States Navy. He was the owner of The Squire Shop men's clothing store in Covington for a number of years. He was a lifelong member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church. Aycock and Naomi Mooney Aycock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Lola Aycock. George served in the United States Marine Corps during Korea, he retired from Dewitt Trucking Co. in Rockingham NC., as a truck driver for number of years.
