Teresa Gaines Spangler, 50 of 2337 S. Church Street died Monday, April 9, 2018, at Lewis Gale - Alleghany Hospital. She was born October 16, 1967, in Alleghany County a daughter of Gene and Linda McCulley Gaines of Covington. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jayson Gaines, in 2012 and a sister, Yvonne Gaines, in 2015. She was a teacher's aide in the Covington City School System for a number of years and was currently serving as a Para Professional at Covington High School. Surviving in addition to her parents are two Sons, Brandon M. Spangler and Adam W. Spangler, both of Salem; her Fiance', Jesse Cales, of Covington; her Sister, Helena Hubble and her Husband, Joe, of Covington; her Brother, David Gaines, of Roanoke; her Granddaughter, Anzleigh Spangler of Salem and several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Jody Gaines, of Covington. Lee

Parker Lee Tingler, Jr., 69, of 1010 Apache Court died Sunday morning, April 8, 2018, at his home. Mr. Tingler was born September 23, 1948, in Alleghany County a son of the late Parker L. Tingler, Sr. and Ada Martin Tingler. He had retired from Mead Westvaco as a pipefitter in 2005 after 37 years with the company. In 1987 he started Classic Auto Center used car sales on Craig Avenue in Covington and left that business in 1994 to open the Car Shop, Inc. on Highland Avenue. Parker, known affectionately as "Boo", was a good , loving, godly man devoted to his family but eager to reach out to help others. There are no words to express our love for him. He so enjoyed his car business, his church family at Faith Baptist Church and going with Joy to antique malls on Sunday afternoons. Herman Ray "Top Man" Taylor, Sr., 67, of 3712 Upper Rich Patch Road, died Sunday April 8, 2018 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. He was born May 27, 1950 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Ernest Junior Taylor and Frances Byer Taylor. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Pete Taylor, Ernest "Jack" Taylor, Jr., James "Bo Bo" Taylor and Curtis P. Taylor. Herman was the Owner/Operator Top Man Auto Upholstery for a number of years and a member of Cliffdale Christian Church. He was an avid Car enthusiast. Mr. Wright was born December 3, 1925 the son of the late John Williams and Florence Thompson Wright. Thomas worked as a Mechanic at the Rent-All in Radford. Surviving are his daughter Sandra McCoy of Parrot and granddaughter Lora Tucker of Waiteville, WV. In keeping with his wished his body has been cremated. Edward Wayne "Buddy" Gibson 83, of 321 E. Hawthorne Street, died, Friday April 6, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Gibson was March 29, 1935 in Alleghany County the son of the late Marvin Gibson and Mary Gibson Meadows. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brother Mark Gibsonm and J.W. Meadows, four sisters Gaynelle Gibson Weese, Ruby Gibson Tawney, Cleva Gibson Sizemore, and Missy Gibson Grim, and a son Ben Grimes. Buddy worked in warehousing in the Baxter Healthcare Industry. He was a member of Mallow Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed bingo, golf, scratch tickets, bowling, and what his family referred to as "his girlfriend" his computer. Larry Junior "Woofie" Wolfe, 71, of 203 Ridgewood Circle, died, April 6, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Wolfe was born October 25, 1946 in Alleghany County the son of the late Clarence W. and Pearl Byer Wolfe. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Gracie Spinks in 2001 and his mother in law, Edna Lowe. Larry retired in 2015 from Mead Westvaco as an instrument repairman. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men, as well as Covington Lodge # 610, Loyal Order of Moose. He was an avid bowler and a former employee of Hercules Inc. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War with the United States Army and also a member of the Virginia National Guard.
