Zetta Jane Tucker Martin, 71, of 5119 Midland Trail, died, Tuesday December 26, 2017 at her residence. She was born March 25, 1946 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Harry and Virginia Wright Tucker Bowen. Zetta was a former employee of Westvaco and she was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband Ronald Martin of Covington; her daughter and son in law, Rhonda and Mike Paxton of Covington ; her two sons, Jerry Lee Meadows, Jr. and Leroy L. Vivian Humphries Kimberlin, 79, of 3019 Mallow Road died Saturday, December 23, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Kimberlin was born August 4, 1938, in Alleghany County a daughter of the late George and Rosie Crowder Humphries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one Brother, George Humphries, and three Sisters, Lula Mae Paxton, Violet Loan and Maryann Sizer. Dorothy Dawson Clark, 73, of Eagle Rock, died Friday, December 22, 2017 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. She was born December 17, 1944 in Covington, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Givens Dawson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward David Clark, who died November 5, 2017 and a brother, William Dawson, Sr. Mrs. Clark was previously employed by the former Acadia Polymer in Iron Gate. She lived life to the fullest and was loved by everyone that knew her. Surviving are her daughter Sarah Dawson of Covington; two sisters, Trudy Wright and Linda Wright, both Covington; three brothers, Bobby Dawson Sr.; Johnny Dawson and Dean Dawson, all of Covington and a number of nieces and nephews. Edwin Ballard "Bob" Carter, III, 72, of 1607 Gravel Ridge Rd., died Thursday, December 21, 2017, at his residence.
He was born October 2, 1945, in Alleghany County, a son of the late Edwin B. Carter, Jr. and Opal Dove Perry Carter.
Bob served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army. He retired in 2000 from nTelos Communications after 32 years of service and he was a member of the First Christian Church.
Surviving are his two sons, E.B. Carter IV and Lori Huffman and Joey and Debbie Carter, all of Covington; his daughter and son-law, Teresa and Jeff McCoy, of Lexington; three grandchildren, Jaden McCoy; Kalyn O'Conner and her husband, J.B. O'Conner, and Christian Carter; two sisters, Susie Ayo and Nancy Winebriner and her husband, Wallace, all of Covington; several nieces and nephews and "Bella", his black and tan Beagle dog.

Harry Anthony "Jap" Johnson of Covington died Wednesday December 20, 2017 at his home. He born January 23, 1949 in Clifton Forge to the late Carl T. Johnson and Alberta Burks Johnson. Mr. Johnson served in the United States Marines. He retired from CSX Railroad as a trackman and was member of the Concerned Christian Baptist Church. He survived by a daughter Robin Johnson of Odenton MD., two brothers Carl E. Johnson and his wife Camella and Robert "Flattop" Johnson and his wife Glendora, three sisters, Marian Gabriel and her husband Samuel of Atlantic City, N.J.; Emily Quarles of Iron Gate and Polly Hunter and her husband Russell of Covington, an host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Canterbury was born May 2, 1949 in Alleghany County, the daughter of Betty Bates McDaniel Harvey and the late William Ernest McDaniel. He was born February 14, 1937 at Minden, WV, a son of the late Earl Stephen Hodges and Geneva Helm Hodges. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Robert Milton Hodges Mr. Hodges retired from the Alleghany School Systems as the Director of Instruction and Personnel.
