Joyce Bush Boone, 86, of 913 N. Pocahontas Ave., died, Sunday, June 21, 2020, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. Mrs. Boone was born October 18, 1933, in Covington a daughter of the late Charles and Alice Potter Bush. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Boone in 2007, and her beloved black lab, Hunter. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking and baking and her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Brenda Campbell Burks, 73 of 512 Brussels Ave, Clifton Forge, died, Saturday June 20, 2020 in Lewis- Gale Medical Center, Salem, Mrs. Burks was born August 8, 1946 in Bath Co. She was the daughter of the late Odie Campbell. Sr. and Lucille Hicks Campbell, in addition to her parents she preceded by her husband Roy N. " Buck" Burks, one brother Odie Campbell, Jr. and two nephews. Brenda was Teacher at the former Alleghany Highlands Christian Church and also worked the sounds system for the Expression. Surviving are a daughter Renae Burks and Eric Wolfe of Clifton Forge, one sister Angela Cash and her husband Steve of Blue Ridge, and number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Wednesday June 24, 2020 at 11:00 AM in Campbell Family Cemetery in Bath Co, Arrangement are being handle by Arritt Funeral Home....

Billy Joe Bostic, 76, of 108 Sherry May Street died Thursday, June 18, 2020, in The Alleghany Health & Rehab Nursing Home in Clifton Forge. Mr. Bostic was born July 3, 1943, in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, a son of the late Willie Stanley Bostic and Hattie Rachel Jones Bostic. He had retired in 2006 from the water treatment department of MeadWestvaco after 42 years with the company. He had enjoyed playing his guitar and watching NASCAR on TV, especially his favorite drivers, Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He also enjoyed refinishing furniture and keeping his cars very clean! Ronald Tobin Brackenridge, 59, of Clifton Forge went to be with the lord on Friday, June 12, 2020. Mr. Brackenridge was born May 7, 1961 in Covington, he was son of the late Davis Brackenridge and Marie Witt Evans, in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Toby L. Brackenridge. Ronnie worked at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College as a groundsman and he was a member of the First Assembly of God in Clifton Forge, he also loved gardening. Surviving is his wife of 37 years Bertha Booker Brackenridge of Clifton Forge, one sister Brenda Brackenridge, also surviving are nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated. A service will be held at later date. Lunda Kaye Rainwater Way, 73, of 411 East. Fir Street died Tuesday, June 9, 2020, in Lewis Gale Medical Center at Salem. Mrs. Way was born July 12, 1946, in Bristow, OK, a daughter of the late Lee and Ella Mullens Rainwater. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Elmer Way, a grandson, Dalton Phillips, and one brother. Surviving are five Daughters, Sarah and Dennis Robinson, of Tomahawk, WI; Laura Wilson and Rick Tingler, Angela and Robert Phillips, Joy King and Crystal Clark, all of Covington; one Son, Dewayne and Tracy Prim of Okemah, OK, 16 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A celebration of life will be held Friday, June 12, 2020, at 11:00 AM in the Solid Rock Ministries Church with Rev. Pam Irvine officiating. Mr. Wylie was born September 24, 1958, in Ohio a son of the late Judson Ebrite Wylie and Margaret Elder Wylie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. He was a self employed HVAC technician. Surviving are his Wife, Cathy Wylie, of Covington; two Sons, Judson Wylie and Coty Griffith, of Weyers Cave and Jack Wylie of Virginia Beach; three granddaughters, McKenzie Wylie, Kendall Wylie and Reagan Wylie all of Virginia Beach; two brothers; one sister and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Cecil Irvin. He had retired from Boxley Quarries in Blue Ridge. Mrs. Hoover was born December 7, 1937 in Bath County, the daughter of the late Donnie F. and Mabel Donovan Layton. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Paul E. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher of the Fellowship Class and a member of the choir. Mrs. Patterson was born November 7, 1925, in Alleghany County a daughter of the late Ernest and Bessie Hoke Reed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Monnie Hughes, Sadie Smathers, Cleo Reed and Elaine Thorburn and also by three brothers, Henry Reed, Junior Reed and Calvin Reed. She had retired as a bookkeeper from the former Clifton Forge High School and was a member of the Women of the Moose, Lodge #610. Surviving are her Daughter, Rhonda Huckabee of Salem; one grandson, Dakota Huckabee of Wichita, KS; two great grandchildren, Braxton Huckabee and Sadie Huckabee, both of Wichita, KS and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He had retired in 2014 from the Public Works Department of the City of Covington after 40 years with the city. Tammie Lynn Persinger Hepler, 53, of 1412 Concord St., Selma, died Tuesday morning April 28, 2020, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. Mrs. Hepler was born July 21, 1966, a daughter of the late Carl R. Persinger Jr. and Edith Geraline Persinger. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Debbie Dawson and Linda Persinger and a brother, Carlos W. Persinger Sr. Tammie worked as a manufacturer at the Bacova Guild LTD. in Low Moor. She was the neighborhood mother helping all in need, loved company and taking rides around the horn looking for wildlife. She loved racing and gardening, looking at eagles and taking camping trips with her family. Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Jessie Hepler, a son Drewery Hepler and fianc Angel Andrews all of Selma, a sister Sherry Lappeaux and God Daughter, Christina Lappeaux, both of Hot Springs, her little bits, Carla, Winchester, Whitey, Ruby Rose, and Tyson, and a number of nieces and nephews.
