Lee Franklin Dunbar, Sr., 79, of 5006 Johnson Creek Road, died, Sunday, November 10, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Dunbar was born August 20, 1940 in Union, WV the son of late Forest A. and Leona Caldwell Dunbar. He retired in 2003 from MeadWestvaco as a mechanic millwright after 40 years, he was member of Faith Baptist Church and loved his family. Surviving are his wife of 59 years Carolyn Weikle Dunbar of Covington, two sons Lee F. Dunbar, Jr. and wife Leslie of Eagle Rock, Jeff Dunbar of Roanoke, one daughter Sheila Wriston and husband Doug of Waynesboro, four grandchildren Brianna Dunbar and Lydia Dunbar both of Eagle Rock, Michael Wriston and fianc Lacey Cullen and Hunter Wriston and girlfriend Kate Campbell all of Waynesboro; one great grandson Braden Wriston of Waynesboro, two sisters Fern Holland of Union, WV and Virginia Morgan and husband Julian of Organ Cave WV. John Henry Ferrell, 57, of 826 Long Avenue went from his home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Monday, November 4, 2019. He was born August 17, 1962, in Charleston, WV, a son of the late Henry and Ann Shirkey Ferrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandfather who raised him, Raymond Underwood, and a sister, Phyllis Greenfield. He was the former pastor of the Covington Wesleyan Church and loved the Lord with all of his heart. He had coached the Callaghan girls basketball and football teams and had served as an assistant coach for the Covington High School girls basketball team. Mitchell Wade Aldrich, 60, of 937 Paloma Drive died Thursday, October 24, 2019, at his home. Mr . Aldrich was born February 12, 1959, in Mt. Holly, NJ, a son of the late Irvin E. Miller and Violet Aldrich Beernaert. Mitchell was raised in Indian Mills, NJ. He worked at Barrett Asphalt in SouthNJ, as a truck driver for number of years. He also was an avid outdoorsman and member of NRA. Manard Leon "Pete" Markham, 77, of 2330 S. Lewis Ave., died, Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Lewis Gale Alleghany in Low Moor. Mr. Markham was born July 30, 1942 in Alleghany County the son of Joseph and Ossie Lee Markham. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Frances Markham, his second wife Billisue Quate Markham, three sisters, and five brothers. He was a former operator with the Hercules INC. and served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Pete was an avid Hokies fan and a member of the Chestnut Mountain Hunting Club. Curtis Eugene "Sammy" Dressler, Jr., 63, of Covington, died, Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Lewis Gale Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor. He was born April 28, 1956 in Alleghany Co. the son of Patty Marie Smith Alexander of Glendale, AZ and the late E.C. "Doodlebug" Dressler, Sr. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister Sherry May Dressler and a step brother Dusty Lowen. Sammy had worked with his father at Bulldog Construction for number of years and was a self-employed carpenter. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Tingler, Jr., slipped away from this imperfect world and moved on to a much better place, the Promised Land. She is now free from all the pain, sickness and misery of her cruel debilitating disease. Penny Lynn Whiting Jones, 71, of 3815 Dunlap Creek Road died Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. She was born December 5, 1947, in Zenia, Ohio, a daughter of the late George and Jean Grant Whiting. She had retired as a clerk for the National Park Service in Springfield. She was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church. Surviving are her Husband of 36 years, Michael C. Jones, of Covington; two Sisters-in-law, Linda White and her husband, Steve, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, and Lora Thompson, and her husband, Howard, of Covington and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. Brown Sr. and Brenda Retha Jeter Brown. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Jaisean Walton, a granddaughter Rilya Brown and a brother Michael Brown.
