Riley Mae Wolfe, 3 week old daughter of Scott and Shannon Unroe Wolfe, of 604 Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge, died Thursday February 9, 2017 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. She was born January 14, 2017 in Charlottesville. Riley was preceded in death by a brother Hunter Wolfe in 2008 and also an Aunt, Virginia Mae Anderson. In addition to her parents she is survived by her sister, Montana Wolfe of Covington; Maternal Grandparents, Richard and Dorothy Unroe of Iron Gate; Paternal Grandparents, Larry Wolfe of Covington and Lori Wolfe of Covington; aunts and uncles, including Randa and Henry Nicely of Covington and several cousins. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the graveside in Mountain View Cemetery. Susan Mays Nicely, 62 of 4007 Callaghan Circle died Monday,, February 6, 2017 at Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor. She was born October 5, 1954, in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Rev. James T. Mays, Sr. and Gladys Huffman Mays. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Nicely, in 1988. Susan was a former employee of Bacova Guild LTS in Low Moor. Surviving are two sisters, Janet Saunders, of Stuarts Draft and Peggy Landrum of Fincastle; one brother, James T. Mays, Jr. of Iron Gate; special friend, Edward Broughman of Covington and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 1:00 PM at the graveside in the Central Advent Christian Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Gililand officiating. Michael Edwin Weade, 54, of 2515 Smith Street, died Saturday February 4, 2017 at his residence. He was born August 1, 1962 at Patrick Air Force Base in Cape Canaveral, FL, a son of Mary Brooks Barber of Covington and the late Malcolm Estil Weade. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his sister, Marcella Weade in 2014. He was employed by New River Electrical Corp. as a ground man. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his step father, Bill Barber of Covington; his two daughters, Angel Weade and Matt Robertson of Hot Springs and Brandy Campbell and her husband John of Bedford. Charles Winfred Ross, 80, of Goshen, of Covington, VA, died, Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center in Fishersville. He was born September 5, 1936 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Bernie Wilson Ross and Mary Frazier Ross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded I death by four brothers and one sister. Mr. Ross was retired truck driver with Guy C. Evers Excavating Corp. He was a former member of the Goshen Rescue Squad and the Staunton Moose Lodge. Surviving are his daughter, Mary Campbell and her husband Rodney of Staunton; a granddaughter, Lakyn and Steve Sheffer of Mount Solon; a great grandson, Porter Sheffer of Mount Solon; one brother, Donald "Buzz" Ross and his wife Carolyn of Covington and several nieces and nephews. James Ernest Salyers, 62, of 2619 Dogwood Ave., died Monday January 30, 2017 at Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor. He was born September 10, 1954 in Alleghany County, a son of the late William A. Salyers, Sr. and Yolanda Giardino Salyers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Dorothy S. Ayers. Jimmy was employed as a Commercial Tire Salesman by Blue Ridge Tire in Salem. He was an active member of Hoke Chapel Methodist Church, holding several offices over the years, including Chairman of the Administrative Board, Sunday School Superintendent and Pastor Parrish Relations. He was a coach of the girl's recreation league basketball and softball teams, as well as AAU basketball. He was an unofficial mentor to several area youth athletes, both boys and girls. Charlotte Snyder Redman, 75, formerly of Covington, died, Sunday, January 29, 2017, at the White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center in White Sulphur Springs, WV. Mrs. Redman was born July 20, 1941, in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Harry Clem and Frances McDaniel Snyder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Curtis B. Redman, in 2007. Linda Marie Crawley, 62, of 603 E. Cherry Street, passed peacefully Thursday, January 26, 2017, at her home. She was born July 17, 1954, at Alleghany Regional Hospital. Linda was preceded in death by her grandmother Betty Lee Wilkerson, her father, William Kermit "Frosty" Crawley, Sr. and a sister Regina Mae Hunter. Linda was a former employee of Lear, Inc. in Covington and was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ. Linda loved her family more than anything. She was an avid reader. She was a very passionate caregiver who touched the lives of many families in this community throughout the years. Linda was a wonderful mother, dedicated grandmother and a loving daughter, aunt and sister. She was very special to us in our individual ways but collectively she was everything to all who knew her. Mrs. Hepler was born January 9, 1929, in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late H.P. Persinger and Edith Terry Persinger. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Leonard Leo "Jim" Hepler in 1999, one sister, Celia Myers, four brothers, Beauford Persinger, Palmer Persinger, John Persinger, and Curtis Jamison, and one son-in-law, Layne Mann. Goldie was a member of Cliffdale Christian Church. She was a homemaker and loved to garden and cook. He was born June 29, 1940, in Alleghany County a son the late Earl Linwood Stull, Sr. and Josephine Lucy Deisher Stull.
