Clayton Audric Taylor, 87, of 318 West Gilliam Street died Thursday, November 13, 2014, at his home. Mr. Taylor was born January 29, 1927, at Fort Springs, WV, a son of the late Lawrence and Eula Brooks Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a Daughter, Bonnie Proffitt, in 2008 and also by two brothers and three sisters. He had retired in 1992 from the Boilerhouse at MeadWestvaco after 43 years of service with the company. He was a veteran of World War II with the U. S. Navy. John Lynn Green, age 79, of Maryville slipped away peacefully in his sleep at UT Medical Center. John entered this earthly life on February 15th 1935 and departed to be with his heavenly father on November 12, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, Thurman Green; mother, Pinkie Green Miller, and brother, Ray Lloyd Green and great granddaughter, Eden Corinne Johnston. John leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Loretta F. Green she will miss him every day until they meet again in heaven. Kenny Edward Goode, 76, of 705 Dolly Ann Drive, died, Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at his residence. He was born May 3, 1938 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Herbert N. and Louise Sellers Goode. Mr. Goode served his county with the U. S. Army from 1956- 1959. He retired in 2003 from MeadWestvaco as a mechanic with 44 years of service. Mr. Goode loved to hunt and fish. He always enjoyed working in the vegetable garden and also the flowers in his yard. Dorothy Kemper Wolfe, 86, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Brian Center Rehabilitation and Nursing Care in Low Moor. She was born October 10, 1928 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Pius and Sadie Paxton Kemper. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David Claude Wolfe in 1976; two brothers, Melvin Kemper and Radford Kemper; one sister Francis Quinn and one niece Carol Blackmon. Rebecca Lynn Plymale Horne, 62, of 1328 Forester Road, Clifton Forge, died, Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. She was born October 9, 1952 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Richmond. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Plymale and also her husband, Dewayne Curtis Horne. Rebecca was employed a stocking clerk with Goodwill Industries. She was a member of the Persinger Memorial United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughter Cassandra Plymale of Clifton Forge; grandson, Benjamin Fridley of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Patricia Woolwine of Roanoke and Deborah Pymale of Clifton Forge; three nieces, Amanda Woolwine ; Tabitha Plymale and Misty Spradlin, all of Roanoke and one nephew, Lantier Plymale of Covington. Steven Eugene Arritt, 63, of Richmond, VA, died, Monday November 3, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 20, 1951 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Reginald G. "Reggie" and Eula Heintz Arritt. Steven was a member of the Covington High School Class of 1970. He graduated from James Madison University in 1974. He was employed as an Accountant with Chesterfield County. Surviving are his son, Scott Arritt and Alica Adcox of Charlotte, NC; his daughter, Samantha Arritt and Zachary Palumbos of Aberdeen, NC; one brother, Frank Arritt of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Lynn Hemp and her husband Ed and Mary Kay Guth and her husband Mike, all of Covington; a special uncle, Raymond Arritt of Richmond and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. William Henry Moody, 73, of Covington died Saturday, November 1, 2014, in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Moody was born April 12, 1941, a Son of the late H.F. and Sallie Carter Moody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant Son, William Francis Moody. He had retired in 2012 as the owner of Moody Homes, Inc. in Covington and had served as Chairman of the Board of the American Manufactured Housing Association. Bill was a former member of the Board of Directors and a Past President of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism and a former member of the Board of Directors of the State Bank of the Alleghanies. He was born December 30, 1947 in Covington, a son of the late Charles J. and Myrtle Lytle Rodenizer. Lawrence was a self employed Dry Wall Contractor. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. Surviving are a son, Curtis W. He was born January 4, 1937, in Covington a son of the late Ellis Coleman and Kathleen Fridley Tucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ellis Tucker, Jr, and two sisters, Louise Bland and Polly Rose. Mr. Tucker retired in 1999 as a foreman in the Beater Room after 43 years of service at MeadWestvaco. He was a member of South Covington United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Jean Miller Tucker, of Covington and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Judith "Judy" Martin of Covington, Virginia, died Sunday, October 19, 2014, at her residence after an extended illness. She was the wife of John Edward Martin, III. The first daughter of Joyce Gore Mann and the late Robert Leon Mann, Judith was born in Talcott, WV on October 1, 1949. Judith was a graduate of Talcott High School and Highland Beauty Academy. A retired cosmetologist and faithful community servant, Mrs. Martin was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church where she was a Trustee, usher and member of the Willing Workers choir. He was born September 22, 1942 in Huddleston, VA the son of the late Jesse and Ella Estelle Johnson Bowling. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers John Martin Jr. and Gerald Bowling, a second mother Inez M. Craft, and his beloved dog Teddi. James served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and enjoyed going fishing with Judy to Lake Anna and Bugs Island. When he wasn't outside, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching NASCAR.
