Denise Aubrey Tucker Lynn, 47, of Covington, died, Saturday May 18, 2019 at her residence. She was born February 16, 1972 in Clifton Forge, she was the daughter of the late Willie Lee Tucker, Sr. In addition to her father she was preceded by her beloved grandson Riley Spencer Drummond, paternal grandparents Everett and Gerda Tucker and maternal grandfather John Harless. Denise was employed 17 years with Westrock, working in the bleach room. She loved animals, crocheting, and helping grow food for canning. Albert Allen Burns, 56, of 4001 Callaghan Circle died Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at his residence. He was born December 21, 1962, in Maryland. He was the son of Edith Hillard Burns of Clifton Forge, and the late Gilman Burns. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter and two brothers. Mr. Burns worked in construction for Bruce Hyler. Surviving in addition to his mother are one Son, Dwayne Burns, and his wife, Amy, of Covington; two Daughters, Rebecca Burns and Alicia Burns, both of Covington; seven grandchildren, two Sisters, Sarah Reynolds and her husband, Edward, and Vicki Spangler and her husband, Fran, all of Clifton Forge; two Brothers, Harvey Burns and wife Debbie of Clifton Forge and George Burns of Low Moor and several nieces and nephews. Gary Robert Hawley, 64, went to be with his Lord on May 15, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Hawley was born February 19, 1955 in Pontiac, MI, the son of the late Morton "Dutch" and Ruby Moore Hawley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law Lee McClung. Gary was formerly from Vienna, WV and moved to Covington in 2013 to be closer to his grandson. He worked at St. Joseph's Hospital for 35 years in Parkersburg, WV and worked at Lewis Gale Alleghany for 3 years until his retirement. He was a faithful servant of God, serving as a deacon at Vienna Baptist Church and then at First Christian Church for many years. He was attending Temple Baptist Church at the time of his passing. Gary was a one-of-a-kind person, always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. A true example of how we should treat one another. Mrs. Tucker was born August 26, 1926, in Alleghany County a daughter of the late Henry D. and Ida Bell Wolfe Redman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Joseph E. Denny Collins Bell, 91, of 1017 Cliftwood Circle, Clifton Forge, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at his residence. Mr. Bell was born October 19, 1927, in Waiteville, WV, the son of the late Walter Bell and Cordie Smith Bell Bailey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in the death by his Wife, Lelia Frances Martin Bell, in 2009, four sisters; Erma Broughman, Emma Hawse, Beulah Martin, and Jean Miller, five brothers; Alvie Bell, Berlin Bell, Roy Bell, Buster Bell, and Dalma Bailey and two half-brothers; Corbitt Bell, and Ira Bell. Denny was a Co-Owner of Maytag appliance store in Clifton Forge and was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. He was a charter member of Trail Blazer Hunt Club and was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. At 91, Denny killed his 100th White Tail Buck in November of last year. Cory Wayne Nida, 34, of 412 Winding Way died Monday, May 6, 2019, in Lewis Gale- Alleghany Hospital at LowMoor. Mr. Nida was born April 25, 1985, in Alleghany County a son of Ronny and Rita Brewster Nida of Covington. He was employed as a fork lift operator in the warehouse at Garten Trucking. He was preceded in death by his Sister, Jessica Nida, in 2009, and also by his grandparents, Leonard Nida and Glenn and Alice Brewster, and two uncles, Lenny Nida and Mike Brewster. Surviving in addition to his parents are his Son, Conner Lee Nida, and his Daughter, Breeann Marie Nida, both of Covington, his Brother, Jason Higgins, of Charlotte, NC, his Grandmother, Bettie Nida, of Covington and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. Christine Campbell Hepler, 83, died Thursday, May 2, 2019, at the Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge. Mrs. Hepler was born November 27, 1935, in Alleghany County a daughter of the late James R. and Mae Young Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Ralph L. Hepler, in 2014 and a Sister, Geraldine Brookman. Surviving are her Sister, Ellen Hepler, and her Husband, Fred, of Covington; two Brothers, C. Robert Campbell, and his Wife, Kathy, of Covington and James Campbell and his Wife, Donna, of Powder Springs, GA; and several nieces and nephews including Gary and Devone Bess of Covington. James Robert Kitt, 60, of 800 Ridgeway Street in Clifton Forge died Tuesday, April 30, 2019, in Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital at LowMoor. Mr. Kitt was born September 19, 1958, in Alleghany County a son of Charlotte Vint Kitt Martin of Clifton Forge and the late Robert Kitt. He was a retired technician with Tinker Mountain Workshop. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving in addition to his Mother are four Sisters, Pauline Rowan and her Husband, Carl, of Eagle Rock; Karen Groves and her Husband, Henry, and Michelle Martin, all of Clifton Forge and Debra Groves of Covington; several nieces and nephews and a special longtime friend, Chris Reynolds. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
