Timothy Wade Johnson age 36, of 311 N. Alleghany Ave. died Thursday November 22, 2018 after a lengthening illness. He was born April 24 1982 in Covington to Leroy Brown and Melisa Johnson of Covington. Timmy graduated from Covington High School in 2000. He loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed fishing with his dad. In addition to his parents, he is survived his wife, Candice Saunders Johnson of Covington; one sister Nichelle Brown of Clifton Forge; two nephews ;one niece and a host aunts, uncles and cousins. In keeping with Timmy wishes his body has been cremated. A family visitation has been scheduled for Saturday December 8, 2018 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Arritt Funeral Home. Ralph Lee Tucker, Sr. age 87 of 108 Ross Lane, died Thursday, November 22, 2018, at his residence. He was born December 29, 1930, in Alleghany County a Son of the late Benjamin Harrison Tucker and Ida Bowen Tucker, He was preceded in death by his Wife, Georgia Givens Tucker, in 2005, and four brothers, Ray Tucker, Ersel Tucker, Frasier Tucker and Charles Tucker; four sisters, Annie Simmons, Bessie Simmons, Dorothy Martel and Cela Wolfe. He had retired from his business, Tucker Heating and Air Condition and later worked for Dominion Power and he also served in the United States Army during Korea Surviving are three Sons, Ralph L. Edward Reese Mills, 86, of 618 N. Beverly Ave. died Monday, November 12, 2018, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salem. Mr. Mills was born June 13, 1932, in Ogden, Utah, a son of the late Claude and Lodasca Williams Mills. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife, Betty Minnick, Mills in 1998 and by a son, Jerry Mills and two daughters, Jean Mills and Joy Mills. He was a veteran of the Korean War with the United States Navy where he served as an electrician on a destroyer. After the war he was employed by Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle, WA, making custom dies and tools for the Gemini and Apollo space programs. He was a Las Vegas, NV, resident for 45 years before moving to Virginia to be near his youngest daughter. Carol Ann Watts Baker, 75, of 1325 North Alleghany Avenue died Saturday morning, November 10, 2018, in Lewis Gale Medical Center at Salem. Mrs. Baker was born April 19, 1943, in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late George Nicely and Virginia Montgomery Watts Nicely. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, James C. Baker, Sr., in August of this year. Ann was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Surviving are three Sons and Daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Sissy Baker of Williamsburg; Jeff and Jackie Baker of Covington; Mark and Becky Baker of Roanoke; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.; two Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Nancy and Earl Loan and Millie and Harry Clark, all of Clifton Forge; one Brother and Sister-in-law, Charlie and Sherry Watts, of Clifton Forge and several nieces and nephews. Wallace Glenn Worley, Sr, 86, of 2031 S. Arden Ave. died Friday, November 9, 2018, at the Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge. Mr. Worley was born February 3, 1932, in Covington a son of the late Ira Lloyd "Brown" Worley and Katie Parker Worley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Worley and Phil Worley, a sister, Maxine Meyer, a daughter-in-law, Debbie Tucker Worley, and by an infant brother and infant sister. He retired as a Staff Sergeant after 24 years of military service with the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and an administration supervisor at the Pentagon. He had retired as a mail truck driver for the United States Postal Service with Swisher Trucking Company. He was a longtime member of Calvary Christian Church. Mary Lockhart Wolfe, 85, of 107 Parsonage Lane died Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Wolfe was born June 25, 1933, in Alleghany County a daughter of the late Roy and Pearl Crowder Lockhart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Stanford J. Wolfe, in June of this year; a Son, Jay Wolfe, in 2002, and also by two brothers and one sister. She had retired as a custodian at Boiling Springs Elementary School and was a longtime member of Highland Chapel Christian Church. Paul Leonard Armentrout, Jr., 76, of 6007 Uplands Rd., died, Sunday, November 4, 2018, in Lewis-Gale Alleghany Regional Hospital. He was born July 1, 1942 in Alleghany Co. the son of the late Paul L. Armentrout, Sr. and Marie Cronise Armentrout. Mr. Armentrout retired from MeadWestvaco in 2005 after 45 years of service. He was a former member of the Westvaco Rescue Squad and loved farming, wild life and being outdoors. Lorenzo Everett Heighter age 86 of 227 S. Marion Ave, died Friday, November 2, 2018, at his residence. He was born July 9, 1932, in Clifton Forge the son of the late Phillip M. Heighter, Sr. and Lillian Jones Heighter. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a Daughter, Katina Y. Heighter, in 1998 and by two brothers, William Heighter and Phillip Heighter,Jr. Mr. Heighter was the former owner and electronics designer engineer of MGI, Inc. in Hampton Va. He had retired as an insulator with Kirby-Cundiff Insulation Co. and was a member of Palestine Chapel Presbyterian Church.
